From the time the Company was founded in 1918 until quite recently our main customers in the UK were in the industrial sector, principally in the laundry machine and laundry trades. We carry on that tradition of service and have pleasure in still dealing with some customers from those very early days.

Our efficient and flexible service suits those who want to get the right materials in the right place at the right time.

Much of our fabric goes into filters.

We make specialised filters and harnesses with fixings and clips.

Laundry Machine Sheeting

From polyester press sheeting to canton flannel. If you are in the laundry supply business, you will already know that Textile People makes all press and filtration fabrics.

Curtain and Soft Furnishing Makers

We stock cotton 137cm bump interlining for curtains in natural, synthetic and shrunk. Bump interlining is usually included in making top quality curtains because it helps the light exclusion, sound absorbency and light exclusion. Our range of curtain interlinings also includes a Domette (light weight), medium and heavy weight cotton, natural and bleached. Traditional cotton sateen and polycotton curtain lining is also available from stock.

We are totally conversant with Fire Regulations and offer fire retardant curtain lining and a pre shrunk Domette.

Aratex is a recycled cotton and viscose fibre stitch bonded interlining which is a low cost lining alternative. We usually supply Aratex to high volume curtain makers.

Multi purpose stiffenening for pelmets and tie backs for you to cut to size saving considerable costs

Cushion linings and cushion covers – from small to large orders.

We do not make curtains or cushions ourselves.

Our Cotton Fustian is used in high quality upholstery.

Our Cotton Muslin is available in white or natural for soft furnishings. Fire retardant muslin is also available.

Printers

We supply open weave lint free wipes for cleaning printing plates and machinery.

We also supply many products to screen printers. (see promotional textiles page).

We supply cotton calicos to textile printers for curtain and upholstery fabric.
